Hi everyone. I just bought a new 10/22 20" barrel model (1159) from Bass Pro a couple days ago. I have been a Ruger .22 pistol owner since the early 80's and shoot NRA/CMP Highpower with my AR Service Rifle, Match Rifle and M1A. Looking to do a little mid range F/TR this next season. So I like to shoot rifles.

Now, hold on to your hats, you won't believe this, but I have started to mod the little 10/22!

Done so far:

Stone & polish hammer to reduce trigger pull - I eliminated almost all creep and got the pull below 4lbs. VAST improvement over that terrible stock trigger! Thank you Youtube.

Polished sear surfaces

Polished bolt

Filed the stock bolt release to make it into an auto bolt release

Installed sling swivel studs

Nylon bolt stop pin (made out of 1/4" nylon bolt)

Cleaning rod hole

Left to do: Wolff reduced power spring kit and trigger group shims.

I'm not looking to make this a match rifle, I have an old, very basic but still accurate Anschutz Model 10 for my .22 target shooting, but just make this 10/22 more enjoyable and a little more accurate.

Looking forward to learning more about the 10/22.
