I had let a buddy shoot my GP100 at the gun range; I was standing behind him and saw sparks fly left & right. He reported that the recoil felt normal and didn't realize the cylinder had blown. (No injuries...)
I called Ruger the next day and they emailed a shipping label. About 10 days later I got an email indicating that the gun was beyond repair and would I like a replacement for $414? Uh, yes! I talked to the cust svc rep and asked if I could get a 6 inch barrel rather than the original 4 inch model. No problem, no change in price! (I have Parkinson's and the longer sight radius might help my 67 yr old eyes.)
Here's another surprise: they returned my after-market front sight, reduced power springs and Hogue wood grip! Most excellent, and I should have the new gun in 2-3 weeks.
