I can't say I'm a big fan of the gigantic Keltec branding across the top of the slide. It's almost like they tried to make it uglier. How do they shoot? For about $100 more you could put the same red dot on a TX22 Competition.

I have a regular P17 and it is actually surprisingly accurate and functional. I've never had a malfunction. I think I paid around $200 out the door for that gun and I consider it a steal. My kids love it. Great plinking gun.

Yeah, I don't think mine has the gigantic KELTEC on the slide. I don't know why some manufacturers find that necessary.

I'm reluctantly OK with a plastic frame with drop in metal components.

But one that completely splits down the middle?

Even King Solomon remains skeptical. (n)

I had one and sold it to a friend. It was a decent gun. It shot every brand of 22lr ammo I had to try in it.
It does have a cheap feel to it. I would be disappointed if I had paid more for it. It was only $199, with 3 mags.
BB guns weigh more than this gun. I don't know anyone who has reported long term, frequent use of the pistol. I'd be interested in how it holds up to a high round count.

Kel-Tec has some interesting fire arms . I'm going to their site and look around .
That handgun that held 30 rounds of 22 Magnum seemed formidable and now they have something ( light rifle ?) that holds 50 rounds ... and now this red dot package ... I'm in need of sight help .
I'm blind in my right eye , half blind in my left with Glaucoma ,slowly stealing that sight away... I must use a red dot to shoot and the two I have mounted ... were from the days when mounting them was a huge job ... no one made affordable handguns with easy , clean mounting capabilities ... I sure could use a nice handgun with a clean red dot mounted ... price looks good for the package ...
Thanks for posting the info Bearcatter :) !

Per Sportsman's ad, I thought it was a new gun. Apparently it's just new to them, or the package deal is new. I had never heard of it.
When I was researching pocket guns, I decided on the NAA Guardian, but lots of people chose the Kel-Tec P-32. They admitted to there being a lot of negatives, but went for it because it was light weight.

Reminds me of Springfield's grip zone atrocity

It's a KelTec. And it works.
Ruger will copy it soon.

The biggest negative with the P32 is American made ammo and JHP. Stick with European FMJ. Recently I was given a box of Fed FMJ and the ejection pattern was inconsistent and weaker than the Euro FMJ. A few barely made it out of the pistol. Also the Euro Mfgs bevel the back of the rim which helps prevent rim lock issues. JHP rounds tend to be shorter and leave too much room in the magazine which can induce rim lock.
I bought a P17 and wife took it. For $200 I can't complain. I got off cheap. She usually picks more expensive guns. It is actually a decent shooter. I have been watching for another one that isn't over priced.

I bought one a couple years ago, based solely off of 22plinkster's review on YouTube. I have been extremely pleased with it. I've owned several Keltecs:
  • PF9 (at the time, the slimmest & lightest 9mm on the market)
  • P3AT
  • P32
  • Sub-2000 (gen 1)
  • P17
I've never had a lick of trouble from any of them. Granted, they are ugly, but they work as they should.

Here's the above referenced review by 22plinkster that persuaded me to buy one.
I ad the P-32 and absolutely no problems and carried it a while, now resides with my Granddaughter going to college. The 22 mag was also trouble free but had to load as they said. 5 rounds and slap back of mag on knee. Never had a jam but was so much fun traded it to a good friend as was too hard to keep ammo around. Now have had a P-17 for several years and paid 185 OTD. Use it for fun at 22 steel shoots and never an issue. Has close to 1500 rounds through it and no problems.

Do you mean how Ruger has done with its long list of reading material on the side of its barrels before moving it to the bottom?
They're out to give Hi-Point a run for the money. :p

I've owned some Kel-Teks too:
P3AT
PF9
P11
I bought them when I was dirt poor and they were all I could afford.
1. They were butt-ugly
2. They looked and felt cheap
3. They all shot well and were reliable.
The P3AT was tiny, light and kind of nasty to shoot.
Ditto for the PF9
The P11 was my favorite. It had a long, light, smooth trigger pull.
All are long gone.
The Keltec P3AT became the Ruger LCP. Both nasty to shoot.

I have both the Guardian and the P-32. I've had the Keltec p32 ever since they came out almost 25 years ago, the Guardian almost as long. I'm not too crazy about the Keltec brand due to their cheap feel in the hand, I can squeeze the empty magazine well inward easily with two fingers, so its pretty thin plastic, thats why I only have one Keltec in my collection.

Neither one is my primary carry, but were purchased for those times when dress required something extremely small. Both have been totally reliable and problem free over the years, especially and surprisingly the KelTec. I have to say, that I usually go for the Keltec over the Guardian due to the lightweight and narrowness of the P32, its just proven its reliability over the years.

The NAA Guardian feels like the weight of a half brick for its size, but again, its also totally reliable and quality built.
