Hello, I recently started another thread asking about a bicentennial blackhawk.

Well, I picked it up. It is in great shape!

someone scratched 430 in the bottom.

Within the last month, I have bought a 10/22, a SR9c and this great Blackhawk. A little obsessed I guess.

Nice gun! Maybe you can buff away some of that scratched in "430". Touch it up with some OxphoBlue down the road. Great looking shooter!

Nice pick-up. I like the old wood grips better than the new laminated grips.

BTW..believe the grip frame is aluminun so don't try Oxpho Blue to touch up as suggested above.

Welcome.

So they scratched 430 in there because they couldn't find a price sticker?

Thanks for the welcomes!

Is there any reason to open it up and deep clean it? It looks pretty clean other wise, but it's 40 years old.

Arquebus357, aluminum even in '76?

Wasp, I sure hope not. But you never know, sheesh.

Welcome and I love that '76er, I have a thing for pre warning NM Blackhawks and especially Bicentennial ones, you got a dandy in that one.
And yes, aluminum grip frame and ejector rod housing go all the way back to the originals and are still in use on blue ones.
