most AR have a loner barrel, AR are more of a rifle length barrel, so those have less of a bark than the shorter barrel mini.
The M4 carbines will sound about the same with their carbine length barrel like the mini14s.

you'll really see the difference in the likes of a M1 Garand VS the "tanker" or miniG that are custom made with about 4" chopped off the barrel.

Same with the M1A/M14 with the 22" barrel compared to the 18" "urban" barrels..

even worse of a difference with them compared the the AR/M4 when going to the slightly shorter barrels.. they really bark a lot more than the normal rifle barrel length
