I have a new HiViz front sight on my new H001 .22 lever gun, and, wow, does it ever make a difference. When I bought the Henry a couple of weeks ago, it quickly surpassed my 10/22 and Marlin 60 and became my favorite .22 rifle. Only problem was that the stock front sight was almost useless for me. I don't know why the stock sight blade is not thinner and why it couldn't have a brass bead. The sight is now metal (originally it was plastic), but is just is not good. The rest of the rifle is top notch.

But, regardless, for about $30 shipped I got the new sight from MidwayUSA. No problem installing it. Only complaint is that the metal does not match the blue on my barrel. It's a brown finish.

Works like a charm, though. That thing just lights up like a little beacon in daylight and makes it much, much easier to shoot.

I just did the exact samething with my Henry. It is so much better with the new sight. Now I am considering a Skinner barrel mount peep sight on the rear. I love shooting it.
