After owning an SR9 for almost 2 years and really likin it, I decided to try an SR40c mostly for winter carry
and my spring fishing trips. I am really impressed with feel and the performance of the SR 40c.
It shoots like a dream, 150 rounds so far and no malfunctions. My LGS owner told me to expect more recoil from a .40 cal. OK, that made sense.
Well I gotta tell you that there isn't much difference in recoil than the SR9. Very happy so far.
Sorry, I just had to tell somebody :p:D

Nice. I have wondered about how the 9c compares to the 40c in felt recoil. I was pleasantly surprised when I first got my 9c. After reading about all the light 9mm's [Kel-Tec PF9 for one] and their snappy, harsh recoil, I was glad to have the SR9c. I still wish it was a DAO, but then it would be a different gun-:)

The SR40c is a great pistol, i have had one for over a year and have yet to have any problems or complaints. It is vary accurate and not much more recoil than the 9c and they are both are trouble free, they seem to like any type of ammo that you feed them.

I hear ya'... My SR40c in 9+1 mode with the pinky extension is a GREAT carry for those times I feel like having a little extra power.
(I usually carry mine IWB at 1:00 since I always wear an overhanging shirt or jacket... but occasionally in a verticle shoulder rig.)

Like I said I really love my SR9. The SR40c is even more impressive.
So I'm hoping that someday soon Ruger comes out with an SR45/SR45c.
I'd be all over that. ;)

Same here, I'd easily say it's the best gun I own so far. It tags around with me like a little puppy! :)

If Ruger ever does come out with a SR45/SR45c, I'll be the first in line to get one, though. As long as it has that same look and feel of the 9 and 40, I'll be happy as a pig in poop!

I haven't even taken delivery of my 9c yet, and already am drooling of the thought of a 45c!!!!

I had always grown up with Springfield pistols, Ruger rifles, and Winchester shotguns. Decided on Ruger for my pistol, because, well, they are made my Americans. This day and age, we should be supporting American workers in America. Not to mention, we just do it better :D

Grats on the 40c!

Recieved my new SR40C today and fell in love with it. Easy handling, soft shooter for 40cal, and accurate right out of the box.

Grats on the purchase! I came pretty close to getting the 40c, until I saw the price differential between .40 and 9mm. I wanted to be able to afford to spend as much time on the range as possible :D

You get it at Buds?

Have had my SR40c since last April and it is the only .40 S&W I own. Nice shooter with about the same recoil as my LC9.

I would be right behind you in line!!!
I have the sr40c as my daily carry pistol and love it...I also have the P95 but it's a little bulky to carry, the thought of the sr45c has me excited...hope that happens soon!!

I started with an SR40 and loved it, then my wife got an SR9c and I really liked it better to carry. So, I traded the SR40 for an SR40c. I never liked the extra recoil when we'd go to the range together.

I ended up trading the SR40c for an SR9c, which is what I should have started with!! I notice a pretty big difference in the recoil on the two guns. I just like the feel of the 9mm version better.

Genitron.com rates the 40c @ 8.9 ft-lb. and the 9c @ 5.7 ft-lb.
