I've never fired my SR9 but have read that up to a 500 round break in may be necessary. Is there any truth to this?

I plan on doing some shooting today.

Welcome to the forum!

When I bought my LC380, I read about this thing called break-in on the internet requiring 500 rounds minimum and at that time 380 ammo was scares. I couldn't find any mention about break-in in the owners manual.

I just shot the weapon until I was comfortable with it and it hasn't caused me any problems.

Mine started shooting much better after 5000 rounds. :D

I'm approaching 6000 now and almost 6 years owning it. No issues ever do to the firearm.

They do loosen up a bit after a few hundred rounds.
