Help!! - I got a new takedown. First shots with stock iron site settings had it shooting from 50 yds about 18" too high. After adjusting the sight up as far as it can go I'm still about 4-6" too high. What adjustments can I now make to further tune it lower?? Thx!

OP, assuming your rifle has the standard 10/22 sights, and you're adjusting elevation on the rear sight, if you want to shoot lower, you need to set the rear sight lower, not higher.

Also, 18" high at 50 yards does not seem likely. I'm suspecting you may need to revisit your sight picture. Generally speaking, you want to try a six O'clock hold. If your target is round, put the front bead on the bottom, or "six" of the circle. You want the bead to be down at the bottom of the "v" of the rear sight- just peeking over it.

Oh, and hey- welcome to the forum!
