I'm new with Ruger's. I hear talk that you should not dry fire a P345 without the mag in the weapon. Does that hold true with the P97?? I'm just wondering. Thanks!

Even though I don't like to dry fire any guns, it doesn't hurt he P97 to dry fire it. I have a hard time decocking them letting the hammer fall. Guess it goes back to the old guns and being a kid and taught not to snap them.

Yup, Calvin-I was taught the same-think they were trying to sell us snap caps-though it really does hurt some rimfires, it doesn't centerfires-still hard to do...good habits are hard to break...
