Don't know if this is true, but its a nice story. :)

One of my sons serves in the military. He is still stateside here in California.

He called me yesterday to let me know how warm and welcoming people were to him, and his troops Everywhere he goes, telling me how people shake their hands, and thank them for being willing to serve, and fight, for not only our own freedoms but so that others may have them also.

But he also told me about an incident in the grocery store he stopped at yesterday, on his way home from the base.

He said that ahead of several people in front of him stood a woman dressed in a burkha. He said when she got to the cashier she loudly remarked about the U S flag lapel pin the cashier wore on her smock.

The cashier reached up and touched the pin, and said proudly, "Yes, I always wear it and probably always will."

The woman in the burkha then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.

A gentleman standing behind my son stepped forward, putting his arm around my son's shoulders, and nodding towards my son, said in a calm and gentle voice to the Iraqi woman: "Lady, hundreds of thousands of men and women like this young man have fought and died so that YOU could stand here, in MY COUNTRY and accusea check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. It is my belief that, had you been this outspoken in YOUR own country, we wouldn't need to be there today.
But, hey, if you have now learned how to speak out so loudly and clearly I'll gladly buy you a ticket and pay your way back to Iraq so you can straighten out the mess in YOUR country that you are obviously here in MY country to avoid."

Everyone within hearing distance cheered!

That's one thing we as a country have forgotten-we have the right-the responsibility to speak out loud and strong-and when we do-things can change---whether the story is true or not-the FACTS in the story are true. I like that the guys here speak out clearly their opinions-not wrangling or sniping at each other-just telling it like we see it-God Bless America!!!!

We have some that speak out for their beliefs and opinions , but there are too many who back down and issue appologies for fear of offending those who are clearly in the wrong. This week the Popes remarks quoting a true event got some people all worked up about offending muslims, ditto with the German opera.

Our gov't has become a bunch of timid souls, too...when 9-11 happened and the news showed the arabs partying and laughing all over-I'll bet if there'd been a few fighter jets streaking overhead low the party would have broken up and the rats would have scurried back to their holes-you know, just a friendly flyby at about 100 feet.....Teddy Roosevelt type tough-DO NOT MESS WITH THE US---plain and simple...if we're going to lose young men and women in the service of their country-turn them loose and let them die FIGHTING not responding to the latest poll-give them the latest and the best and have them go and clean house....same with the police-get the politics out and let them FIGHT crime-not co-exist..we're playing defense and not scoring enough points.I remember in the 60's-if a politician didn't do the will of those who sent him-he didn't get re-elected...simple politics. It all starts with EVERY MAN VOTING and speaking his mind-and daring his representatives not to listen. What a radical thought! If my man doesn't get elected-I need to go out and talk him up next time-take responsibility and DO something. I can make a difference.

Thats absolutely correct. Way too many people don't vote. Its real easy in my area because its mail in, you don't even have to leave the house. I'ld like to see our wimps and their political correctness and other bull at the unemployment office. I live in mostly conservative eastern Washington but, unfortunatly, our politics are ruled by the highly populated western Washington libs. Sure like to see that changed.

Party leaders should be able to do demographic studies and may find that if ALL the voters in the state voted-the libs could be overthrown-it could be a case that that story's gone around long enough that lots of people just gave uup and quit voting...I have no facts to back that up but your state party leaders have access to voter records and could wage a campaign and win if it were that way...worth looking into...I'll bet lots of libs don't vote-figure that they have it made already-that's human nature.
