So I am getting my New Vaquero in a few days and am looking at grips and found this webpage with a warning

NOT GUARANTEED TO FIT STAINLESS STEEL FRAMES

Gun Grip - RUGER VAQUERO

Is this just them or is there a known problem with stainless frames and grips?

I really hate the hassle of returning items.

If your looking for a nice set of custom wood grips for your Vaquero, you should hit up forum member 'caryc'. He makes them for Ruger single actions. I had him make a set for my SS single six from spalted maple. Beautiful work. Here's a pic.

That's an odd comment about SS frames because neither will custom grips fit blued frames perfectly.

For a perfect fit you need to send your grip frame to the grip maker.

Being a grip maker, I have lots of Ruger grip frames come my way. One of the biggest differences in frames can be the bottom corners. Those corners are hand finished on a belt sander and can vary widely. I've seen them come in with almost sharp corners and them others with a very big radius on them. Below are pics showing what I'm talking about.

I've also seen them come in with the grip locator pin holes drilled slightly off throwing off the fit of the grips.
