Going to the Redskins game tomorrow, then early Monday heading to Maine to see some beautiful scenery and hopefully catch some fish! I'd love to spot a moose, too.

Hey quick question. I'm bringing my GP100 just for plinking around the cabin up there, evidently there's a good place to do that. We're driving up in a four-seat pickup, with tons of fishing and hunting gear and a kennel with a dog in it. If that gun is not loaded, am I okay to have that technically 'within reach' going through states that don't honor my Virginia carry permit? I mean, the truck is going to be packed like the Beverly Hillbillies, but there's almost no place to keep it that it's not within reach, unless I put it in the bed which I am not.

I know I should know, but I'm hoping for a quick answer as I have a ton of stuff to prepare...thanks.

Some States require it to be in the trunk of a Car, but in a truck, I would think as long as it is unloaded and with your luggage, you would be all right.
