To be honest most of the open carry folks I see tend to want to draw attention to themselves. Kind of acting like they believe it makes them look cool or like bad azzes. Mostly the type of people who weren't considered popular in school.

I don't think they're doing anything wrong but maybe they're doing it for the wrong reasons.

Man, what a thread! The reasons for open carry are valid, & so are the reasons for concealed carry. Why the hell does anyone have to get pissed off for not liking one or the other! Do what you want to do, if legal, & don't worry about what someone else does!
Exactly,
Considering this was just a “I open carry, how many others here open carry?” thread.

A lot of good points have been made on both sides of this subject. I really have nothing new to add.
I personally CC but I like having our OC with Training law in SC. I like being able to have my firearm in an open vs closed compartment in my vehicle, not having to worry about being seen transferring from vehicle to CC or printing.
Whew!!!! I had to go back and look at my hit a run post (#54, Pg 3, 18 days ago) to make sure I hadn't somehow helped to instigate this conflict.
Really?

The rare times I’ve open carried here in southern Missouri I had positive comments.
May depend on where you’re at. Snowflakes are somewhat rare around here.

My thoughts on the matter - It's situational and unique to each individual. Do what you want and believe to be right...and deal with the consequences/results of that choice.

I CC 100% of the time for many given reasons that have been expressed here, mainly that it's nobody's business what I'm carrying.

I'm surely not going to get into competitive urination events or comparative competitions concerning genitalia appendages over it...

Sorry about the colorful metaphor. When I was young, back in the conservative old days, I wore white wingtip shoes into the office, because I forgot we were having a meeting with leadership. I didn't have time to go home and change. One of the leaders nonchalantly introduced himself to the small circle I was in, and one-on-one said he "wished he had the balls to wear those shoes."

Ever since then, I've over-used colorful metaphors, but they don't always travel well on the internet.

I think he was telling you the shoes were ugly.

This! This is exactly the same response I get when I ask people about open carry. I'm sure it's accurate in some instances, not so much in others.

I don't do it but I don't care if someone else does. It's kinda goofy to me but to each their own.
