Kansas, I wouldn't let what you read discourage you. I bought one for my Wife and it has operated flawlessly. I know a lot of people have had issues with them, but I have a feeling that most all the issues get reported, and lots of the good ones don't get mentioned.

I just can't make up my mind on the 345. There are some things that I like about it such a slimmer profile than the normal Ruger, but I'm not wild about the way the loaded chamber indicator is designed, and the curve in the backstrap is comfortable when I take a careful grip, but I am concerned that I would have issues when getting a "combat" grip with it.

I have had one for several months now and have no complaints at all.

The shooters that take issue with this gun say that the trigger and magazine firing pin safety block causes the gun to malfunction and will cause a FTF.

I have not had that experience with this firearm. If I do I will post it here and let everyone know.

I've had one since February. I've shot 500 rounds through it - 400 Remington 230 Gr RN and 100 of my reloads with lead semi-wadcutters. I like it a lot. It's been 100% reliable so far, is accurate, easy on the hand for a .45 and fits my hand like a glove. I highly recommend them. Just heed the 'no dry firing with the magazine out' warning. If you do have a click-bang, then clean the sight. Who needs a magazine disconnect anyway? (Where abouts in Kansas do you hang your hat!)

My problem is I want a .45... No problem , Right?

Do I get the P345 or do I get a Vaquero in .45? Decisions, decisions...:D
If you make as much money as my Information Systems Manager you should be able to buy them both! If not, go with a .45 Blackhawk - preferably a 45 Convertible. Great guns and a lot of fun to shoot.

I looked at the P90 Ruger today. I think I need both the P345 & the P90. I shot Poncaguy's P90 last week & it is a good firearm. He would have let me try his P345 but he couldn't remember where he put it! (old age setting in) I'm in Arkansas City,Ks. I work in Wichita. I have a very good gunsmith here & if you guy's need some good work for a resonable price I can give you his name & phone#. This sure is a good Ruger Forum! I enjoy it very much.

Do they make a Blackhawk in .357/9mm convertible? I'd like to do 9mm for cost sake, but also run the .357 on those "special" occasions...
You bet they do! I had one - sold it - and want another one.
