An LGS near me has a nice chrome slide P95 that is calling out to me. I don't recall if I have ever handled one. What are the triggers like on the P95?

Aside from the obvious (hammer vs. striker) how does it compare to the SR9? I notice that it's quite a bit cheaper.

Its a bit heavy at first, but mine smoothed out very nicely with a nice clean break in DA. SA is just fine as well.

DA is heavy and long, but pretty easy to get used to. SA is light with a short reset. You can empty a mag pretty quickly once in SA.

SR9 trigger is the same for every shot, but hopefully someone chimes in that has actually shot it.

DA trigger is long & heavy, but not quite revolver DA trigger heavy. SA trigger is light. In both DA & SA, the trigger's break point is very predictable. Reset is very communicative.

I've owned two P95's. I sold off the fist one. Didn't realize what I had until it was gone. The more a P95 trigger is pulled, the more it self-polishes & wears in. The P95 trigger gets better & better the more it gets used.

I'm now working to get my current P95's trigger worn in.

It is my first pistol but a friend who has about 100x the gun experience I do told me he thought it was a really nice trigger. I think it's pretty good myself.

Does anyone here have both the P95 and the SR9 (or SR9c)? If so, how do they compare? The P95 seems to generally run $50-100 cheaper than the SR9's.

Other than hammer vs. striker, is there a big difference in the two guns?

I have a SR40 and a P95 both have lots of rounds through them. The P95 was a bit heavy when new but wears in smooth and mine's about 5.5 to 6lbs pull but don't feel that heavy and has a clean break.
The SR40 is very smooth after I took it apart and cleaned and polished the trigger bar and other parts and was about 5lbs . Later I install a ghost trigger bar and Galloway spring set now it sets at 3.5 and still very smooth. Better than most of my friend's Glock triggers that also have been worked over!!

I have both the SR9C and the P95

I don't have a problem with either trigger.
both operate smoothly in their own rights

the SR9C is my EDC but I do carry the P95 on some occasions.

I have at least 1000 rounds through each and I have never given any consideration to the differences between them, I just practice so that I can shoot either one with the same level of proficiency.

I have the 95 and SR9C and always take both when I go to the range. I had the 95 first and the SR9C is my first striker fired pistol. I was a bit better with the 95 at the beginning but have become MUCH more accurate with the SR9C. I still love the 95 but the 9C has become my "go to" gun.

So... I went back to the LGS yesterday, and asked to see the "P95." I picked it up and noticed that it was really heavy. Hmmm. Looked at wee bit closer and... well, turns out it's actually a new-in-box P89.

Interesting, to say the least. They have it priced at $449, but it is on sale for about $400. Never saw one of these before in person. Built like a tank, to say the least, but also looks a bit crude, IMHO. Not nearly as pretty as, say, a 1911. I'm intrigued, though. It's not really in my budget right now, but it also seems like a bit of a find to find a new one. It's my understanding they haven't been made since 2007 or so.

Look around for an EAA Witness P (a.k.a. Tanfoglio Force).

I found mine at Cabela's for $299. It's an excellent gun. It's design is inspired by the CZ75.

Even if i did buy the P89, I think I'd feel guilty about shooting it. I'm not a collector.

I would have bought it right then and there.
I still regret passing up a used P89 at a gun show for $300, (took a walk to check out some other booths and came back after about 30mins and it was gone.

450 for a p89? i would pass on it... rugers are great guns made to be fired, not collectors items IMO.

pick up a brand new p95 for 300 OTD (it can be done, thats what i got mine for less than a year ago Brand new).
