I have a PCC 9 that I have been having ejection issues with since I got it. I have the TG9 trigger group, TK extractor, and the TK Upriser chassis, that I set up for shooting steel. It will stovepipe with the cartridge rim in towards the ejection port with a live round behind it about 1/3 way chambered behind it. The malfunction is always EXACTLY like in the picture. It's gone back to Ruger and they say it's fine. I'm running factory Remington 145, Blazer Brass 124, or Freedom Munition 124. It does the same no matter which ammo I have tried. I have the TK extractor and it didn't change anything. I'm running low use factory Glock mags. I've had it pulled completely down several times, and everything looks to be normal. I'm about ready to just sell it. The main reason I got it was to have a super reliable PCC, which obviously isn't working out so well. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It looks like you might have an ejector issue. Something is causing the extracted case to be turned but not be thrown, and if the ejector is all I can think of.

Have you tried cycling snap caps through it manually to see if you can identify the point at which ejection fails?
I didn't try that, but great idea. I'll try that tomorrow. That may help me pin down where it's hanging up on me.

Watch this video, mine did the same
Thanks to both of you. I will be trying the chamfering this week. I hate to give up on it because I already dropped a fair bit of money into it for a CF handguard, the Upriser chassis, LUTH-AR stock, the TG-9 trigger group, with a C-More red dot! I was really getting discouraged and getting REALLY tired of pulling it apart. I should have posted here in the beginning. I really like this PCC, if I can get it reliable. I love how smooth it is. I'll post up if this works, it sure looks like the issue I'm having. (y)

I'm lucky. Had one stove pipe within the first few rounds right out of the box. The following 800 rounds ran flawlessly. Mostly Blazer Brass 115g. Lots of Federal Black Pack 124g. Various JHPs.

At some point I'll need to replace the extractor. Either Ruger or MCARBO.

Interesting video Ruger PC Carbine Ejection Fixed, FINALLY! And it wasn't the extractor!

Best of luck.

I am going to ask a question and make a suggestion.

Did it go back to RUGER with all the aftermarket parts on it?

I would put it back to factory specs with factory parts, fire it, if it still did it I would send it to ruger or sell it. If it does not do it, I would add the aftermarket parts back one at a time testing each one.

I have north of 5k rounds on mine since 2018. It has stove piped 1 time at around 500 rnds with 147 gr ammunition. I do not like running the 147 gr in it because the action is sluggish with it. I find mine runs best with 124gr +p. The pluser, the better.

I put it back to stock before I sent it back. It did still do the same malfunction for me.

Also with the magazine out use a flashlight to look in mag well at the ejector and how close it rides to the bolt. Cycle the bolt while looking. The ejector should be almost touching the bolt and riding it the middle of the slot and not touching the sides of the bolt.

if the ejector is riding to far from the bolt the case won’t eject right at times. A friend was having stove piping problems and I looked at his ejector it was riding way off the bolt. We bent ejector to just ride a few thousandths off the bolt and it stopped his stove pipe issues. it may take a few attempts to get ejector bent to the right spot but it’s not bad.

Ive seen the ejector adjustment get messed up for slamming mags in real hard before also. Also if your ejector or even extractor looks worn just call Ruger. One the first PCC I had they were getting a little worn I called Ruger and they sent me a new extractor and ejector (mag well) for free.

New Ruger PC carbine owner here. 2nd time out to the range and I'm still having stovepipes 2-3 times per 10 round magazine and ran about 300 rounds total through it. I understand there may be a break in process, but at what point should I start bending ejectors/buying aftermarket extractors or send it back to ruger? I checked my ejector, there is about a 1mm gap between it and the bottom of the bolt. Hopefully I can get out to the range again soon, as I bought different ammo to try.

Also, I am using glock 19 factory mags.
