Received my Ruger American Predator in 358 Win from the FFL yesterday. Got a Vortex 2-7X scope mounted and hope to shoot some reloads tomorrow. I have a Savage 99C 358 Win already and just couldn't pass this rifle up. This Ruger was part of a limited run that I bought from Grice's gun shop.:)

Awesome ! I have always thought the 358 was much under appreciated.
I planned on having a sporter built on a Military 7x57 model 95 Spanish Mauser about 40 years ago, the gunsmith wouldn't do it citing pressure differences, model 95 is not a model 98 and feeding problems with the 308 / 358 case profile...advised me to keep it 7x57 and bring him a model 98 action for conversion. I never did but still would like to have one like that sweet Ruger....
Nice Score . Will be looking for the range report !

Grices gun shop in PA supposedly has the market on this model. Some have turned up on Gunbroker for sale but for more money (as usual). Grice's is asking 400 bucks plus whatever the shipping and transfer fee amounts to.

Sounds like a great rifle. I prefer the Win Mags, but the .308, .338 Federal, and .358 Win are still some of my favorites!

Can't beat a 358 Win for the type of hunting I do. Don't have any shots past 100 yards in the woods. This cartridge will handle any deer or black bear that show up around my stand. My rifle is dead on at 50 yards--shoots about 2.5 inches high at 100 yards using 200 gr Hornady Interlock SPs and IMR-4895. I have ordered a muzzle brake which should show up this weekend. This light weight rifle will definitely push one around when shootin' from the bench.

As promised, here is the pic of the new 358 Win. I am supposed to get a muzzle brake today in the mail. Can't wait to try out my Ruger w/brake to see if the POI changes with my reloads.

More than likely it will change POI, at 50yds it shouldn’t be much, nothing a slight correction to your scope won’t fix. Don’t over tighten it, that will cause problems.

Had to adjust my scope around 1 inch downward and about 1 inch to the left. After I got the scope zeroed again, I started to pulverize orange and pink clay bird fragments at 100 yards.

Any chance you can share where you got the muzzle brake? I picked one up and put a Meopta Meostar on it with a German #4 reticle. My son shot a 300 lb Russian Boar with it last week. Shoots beautifully but I'd like to add the muzzle brake. Ruger doesn't have one available at this time. I drove to Grice on Monday and they don't have one either.

Got the muzzle brake from X-Caliber, ordered from their online site. Be sure to get the 11/16X24 brake for a .358 bore. The rifle isn't threaded for the more popular 5/8X24 size.
