I recently acquired a really nice stainless Service Six 3", I haven't encountered the 3" in the Six series before.
Were many of these made?

These were made to compete with the 3 inch smith k frame revolvers made in the 1980s.

I'm sure they made several of the 2 3/4" Sixes it's just those that have them keep them.

I'll bet that's true.

It's the sort of gun a guy would by for regular carry, more than lots of shooting. It would never wear out, and it would last forever. Why sell it.

Yes, I've seen quite a few of the 2 3/4" but this is the first 3" I ever encountered.
