So I am a total newbie to optics. Decided on a Hawke Sport Optics 3-9x40 Rimfire. I went to my local Academy and bought a Leupold scope mount and 1" Leopold Rings. The rings are 2 screw vs 4. Is there any advantage to getting the 4 screw ones? I am assuming I would want 4 screw if I were mounting onto a heavy recoiling rifle as the recoil may jar the scope more....thus 4 vs 2 may be better. However, on a .22, I am assuming I can get by with the 2 screw.

Also......if anyone has any other suggestions I am more than willing to entertain those.

Scope ring for 10-22

You are spot on. The two screw mounts are just right. Good choice of scope as well. Great combination. You should only be shooting at 100 yards at most so you dont need any more than what you bought. Have fun. Thats a fun rifle.

I have a Simmons 3-9x40 on my 10/22 and it works great, so that should be all you need. Now get out there and have fun with it.
