Will the trigger guard and floorplate off of a Model 70 Winchester fit a Model 670 Ranger? The 670 Ranger was an economy version of the 70 that had a blind magazine.

Yes, but you have to route out the wood in the magazine cavity. Depending on caliber, you may have to buy a Mod 70 internal magazine. Some of the 670 magazines have a bottom in them while others are just the four sides. You want the one without the bottom.

This operation is basically identical to converting a Remington ADL stock to a BDL.

Or ...... You could buy a Mod 70 stock (long or short action?) and just install the floor plate/trigger guard.

I may go that route because the stock I have is just hardwood and not in great shape. What i'm doing is trying to recreate the (as close as i can) the early USMC Win 70 sniper rifles (30-06) used in Vietnam. I have found a barrel, I think and possibly a scope.

This is gonna hurt the ol pocketbook for sure...
