Rate the P89

How would you guys rate the P89? How is it's accuracy and over all balance? On a scale of 1-10, where would the P89 be placed? How does it stand up to the CZ 75B, S&W, Beretta? Your input is needed for me to figure out if I should get one or not.

I had a CZ75B, and my RCMP buddy has an issued S&W, and I prefer my KP89 to both of them. I sold my CZ, as I found my P89 to be better. I rate the P89 a 10+ !
I rate the P89 10. Mine is very acurate & reliable. It eats anything I feed it. It a KP89DC & it is one gun I'll never trade or sell.
I will just say that I have packed a P89 for the last 5 years as my primary concealed carry gun. Nuff said.
I can't rate it because I don't have one, but I don't know of any of the P-series pistols that aren't good. IMHO Ruger don't make bad guns.

+1 What he said!
I have to agree the P-89 is a fine weapon. I have also used it as my primary carry gun for six years. I would recommend one to anybody.
I don't own a P89 yet so can't rate it. Been kinda waiting for this P85 to wear out first.

If you are waiting to wear out a Ruger, I hope you have better luck than me. I've been trying for years, and I can tell mine are going to wear me out. Think if you find a new one that you want you should just get it and see how good it is. I'm still looking for a bad Ruger. :D
Right-we're not greedy gun grabbers-we're quality control experts sacrificing our time, talent, and money to benefit mankind. I want a P90D, P97D, SP101,...............
P89 is the only one of the guns you listed that I have owned or fired. But, I have shot a lot of other 9mm guns while trying to decide on my second gun. I would give the P89 a 10.

I shot better with an XD, but the difference in accuracy was not that significant. And I didn't care for the trigger safety, as it would rub against my finger on recoil.

The P89 shot better than the Glock and the Styer. The price of the P89 is hard to beat.

I've put more than a thousand rounds through it, and have never had a failure.

I ended up going with a 1911 for my second gun, but I still love my Ruger P89.

S&W likes to cut fingers with sharp TG edges, Beretta weighs a ton, and the CZ while a decent gun is a bit unrefined. The Ruger wins the toss. Best price, totally reliable, more than "combat" accurate and I have owned one for years and love it.
Grovenruger, I live in the tri-cities [Kennewick ]. Glad to see a fellow Washingtonian on the forum.
Hey White Dog, maybe we'll get together and go shooting? I frequent the Tri Cities because of Shumate Harley and Sportsman's Warehouse. I'm in Ephrata. PM if you're interested. It's OK if you're not. I respect everyone's privacy.
Sounds like you have a Harley, I live about a mile from Shumates on 10th. Sportsman Warehouse is one of my favorite place to visit, sometimes to buy, sometimes to drool. My friend, his wife and myself like to go out and shoot, mostly .45 colts, we also have .22s 9mms .40s .22mags, .380s and .38s. I like to drag my big bores along and fire a few rounds [.444 and 45-70] and they have .45 colt rifles. He recently bought a M-1 carbine and we're going to the gunshow at the Kennewick fairgrounds looking mostly for ammo on the 28th and 29th. What do you shoot mostly, target or varmit, bet there's a lot of chucks and coyotes around Ephrata.
I shoot CAS, varmint and just about anything else you can imagine. I'm a certified gun schiztophrenic (spelling?)! Stop the voices!!![:p]
