I've looked around and a few people mention gunsmiths or barrel mfgs but I'd like to know if theres anywhere that I can ship a #1 to and have them put on a new barrel and reassemble?

I have a #1V converted to .22-250AI and if the time comes that I need to rebarrel it I'd like to have a few leads. Thanks.

Mark Penrod of Penrod Precision out of North Manchester, Indiana did my custom #1. Top notch and many consider him the gunsmith for the #1. I know, I will probably get argument from some for that statement, but based on recommendations that is why I went to him with my build.

Any gunsmith worth his salt and with a modicum of experience should be able to rebarrel a No. 1. That said, some will undoubtedly be better choices than others. Ask prospective gunsmiths if they have ever done the work and how many times.

Even though I am in NJ, the best smith I know of is John Taylor. I have used him multiple times.
