More barrel is not that much more weight and in a holster anyway. You appreciate the longer sight and the longer barrel as counter balance.
I got mine the same type of gift price. Has the older type grips. So next time I see some better I will buy them. The recoil tends to beat up my middle finger knuckle by the trigger guard. Custom grip and finger depressions like the new ones will "blend off" the trigger guard. The post style frame makes different grips easier than the full back strap of the Redhawk.
