I recently purchased a new Ruger 10/22 and disassembled it to clean it for the first time. After putting it back together, I noticed that the bolt stop pin is extremely loose. It falls right out if the receiver is not upright. When the stock is attached, I can hear it rattling. Does anyone have a solution minus buying a new one? I reckon that'd be my last resort and I could try and fix it prior to doing so.
Thank y'all.

Pin can be loose. It is held in by the stock. If it is a problem talk to Ruger or replace with an aftermarket pin from Kidd or others. You could go to Home Depot and purchase a nylon bolt with same diameter and smooth shaft as long as the pin. Trim off threads and head and use that also as a replacement. Good Luck!

My main concern is losing the pin or damaging an aluminum receiver with the steel. Will opt for a bolt buffer from Kidd, and use a bit of masking tape to hold the current pin in the receiver until that comes in.

I appreciate the responses.
