Ruger Blackhawk Grip Question

The grips that have all come with my Ruger New Model Blackhawks have been slim, but the replacement grips that I've ordered from Ruger (Ivory #19881 and Rosewood #70046) have both been much thicker - 1.10 inches at the base of the grip for the slim ones, and 1.60 inches, for the thicker ones. It's almost to the point of being uncomfortable in my hand after using the slimmer grips for so long. Does anyone know where you can get the same style slimmer grips? Would love to have the Ruger medallion on them if possible.

There are a myriad of places to get grips for your Black Hawk. You could also sand down the flat side of
your grips, re-cut the notch at the top of the grip and shorten the screw if need be to thin up your grips.

Welcome to the blackhawk trail. I have a Tupperware full of grips. Some I bought and didn't like, some came as extras with guns I purchased. Some of them are just to change the look when I get bored.
I have thinned out grip panels on a bench mounted belt sander. Practice with a chunk of scrap wood to get the hang of it. Learned this the hard way.

I had good luck calling Ruger customer service and requesting grips for a Single Ten which are much thinner than standard Xr3 -red grips. They are called Gunfighter grips. If you talk to a helpful rep, be sure to ask for the shorter grip screw. Good luck.

I recently bought a used blackhawk, the grips that came on it had the medallions and seemed to be factory. They had a flat edge where they meet the grip frame. I dont care for the look and they felt a little weird in hand. I'll get off my lazy butt and go downstairs for pictures. Maybe

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm looking for. Where did you get those? This first photo shows the thinner grips that look just like those on my Blackhawk Flattop .44 Special.

And this shows the newer grips I just got in the mail on my Blackhawk .357. Definitely thicker, and the screw is recessed a lot more.

Top are an old pair of walnuts.
Second photo are some that came on a Buckeye I bought used.
They are marked xrp. They don't seem thicker than the old older ones but that flat edge at the grip frame feels strange in my hand.
Not sure when they were produced, I'm not a fan.
