If you go up and pound on the front door, you'll be disappointed. The Prescott facility does not give tours except to ATF, FBI and LE Forensics groups. I worked there for 18 years, take my word for it.

Davidson's is in Prescott, AZ. A large wholesaler. Maybe they got a display area. They get Ruger to make some "specials" for them.

They are a good outfit to work for. As far whether or not they're hiring, I don't know. I retired from there over a year ago. The majority of my time was spent doing product, R&D and process engineering until they moved me into management.

Shaner, I'd work up a real mournful face and tell 'em at the front desk how you're not doin' too good and you've wanted to visit the plant since you were a child...and you don't think you'll last much longer....if THAT works, tell 'em your Hindu guru Doctor's nurse said if you were surrounded with about a dozen .44 Spl GP100 3" stainless, the magnetic aura would rectify the flotosphere and you'd probably live long enough to finish out your plans for an extensive collection of Rugers....and if THAT works, grab 'em, run like hell, and we'll be waitin' at the coffee shop with cash in hand!!! Seriously, I think they'd do well to offer tours of the plant to the public and to school kids...goodwill sure would do the shootin' business proud...Ruger has always presented an aloof face to the public and the dealers...a little warm and fuzzy wouldn't hurt...damn the lawyers anyways....OK...EXCEPT for BBW;)

Don't bother trying to feed them a line at the front door, they've heard them all. I gave a quite a few tours myself to the LE agencies and have heard about every story in the book from others that wanted to get in. Also you won't find any GPs in Prescott. They all come from Newport.

Yes, I was VERY 'up close and personal' with the the majority of the 'P' Series pistols. The last one I worked on was the P95. The P97 and the P345 came after my engineering days with them. However, I was also involved with Customer Service and learned a lot about them, too. I'll be happy to help with problems anywhere I can.

Deputy125, When I went to Davidson's many years ago (mid nineties) in Prescott, all they had was a counter and a catalog. Not sure what they have now. I too was disappointed I could'nt get in on a Ruger tour then.................Dick

shaner...if you stop in Prescott (we almost moved there and may when we retire in a few years), you could stop at J&G Sales...they sell guns and would probably be happy to show you a lot of goodies. Grab a Shotgun News...they have a few pages of guns for sale every issue. I stopped there years ago on the way to Scottsdale and Phoenix.

Forgot all about J&G Sales. They have always been real friendly folks to talk with on the phone. Know that they are on guns america a lot.

Thought that Davidson's might have more to offer than just a small counter---just goes to show since i ain't been there. Always go their website to graze!
