A carry gun does not need a 1+ inch long trigger pull. The Shield doesn't have a super long trigger pull and it was designed as a carry weapon.

The Sig P 238 and P 938 are both carry weapons and don't have super long trigger pulls.

Also just because it is a double action doesn't mean it has to have a long pull to it either and that has been proven with the Galloway mods to the trigger system.

A 1+ inch long trigger pull makes this weapon no more safe then a similar sized weapon with a 1/2 or shorter trigger pull.

Another thing is the mag disconnect. A weapon does not have to have a feature that dissables the trigger simply because there is no magazine install in the grip.

Further more, no weapon needs a blade ticking up on top of the rail just to tell a person the weapon is loaded. Each and every weapon should be treated as loaded until the chamber has been properly checked.

I bought the LC9 thinking it would be a nice carry weapon. After owning it for awhile, I have come to the conclusion that it is nothing more then a lawyered up POS mess. Also a person should not have to run a 1000 rounds through a weapon before it starts to behave. That gets spendy and takes time. Save your money and time and get something that doesn't need 100s to a 1000 rounds run through it before it starts to behave properly.

I shoot a lot of round through all my guns ..You may not understand getting to know your weapon . The LC9 is a very good carry weapon , if you know how to shoot it correctly.
Most people don't have a problem with the trigger. It may not need a long trigger pull but it has one so get over it.
The mag disconnect and the chamber indicate don't have a problem with it .. You have bashed the fine weapon enough, Thank you for your view... if you want a shield or a Sig go get one there also fine weapons. But you may not like them either .

Right you are!

You will be fine, practice and know your gun , the trigger was made to have a long pull because it's a carry gun. Not sure why people complain about it. If it was a target pistol that would be different . Just shoot it !
Don't pay much attention to some of the rants you see .. Most all people will agree it's a great little gun. There's not many perfect guns out there. I have over 1000 rounds through mine.
Enjoy your LC9 and just shoot it.

Just put 200 rounds through it and WOW what a fun little gun. Quite a bark! I had no accuracy issues (pretty good for a first-time shooter), no FTE or FTF. Flawless.

I'm hooked.

Been shooting many of my 45 years so knowing how to shoot a weapon properly is not a problem. Even got some training at MCRD in south Cali if that helps you understand.

I fixed Rugers trigger on mine myself, something that Ruger should have thought over and done themselves.

As for buying a Sig, yeap went out and did that. Could not trust this metal and plastic thing that I had issues with so I went and purchased a Sig P 938 Extreme. Now that is a fine shooting weapon. More then 400 rounds through it just for kicks and not one single hickup even using Winchester White box with the hard primers.

It also has a firing pin blocker that keeps the hammer from sending the firing pin into the primer unless the trigger is pulled. No mag disconnect so no issues of accidentally bumping the mag release and dropping a mag and it still not firing that round that is in the chamber.

The LCI on it is a slight groove in the slide, that nice shiny Hornady casing shines brightly in it.

I really really thought about the M&P shield but my gun guy did not have one to handle and the looks of that mini 1911 Sig really caught my eye. With its Houge G10 grips, ambi safety, extended mag with the pinky grip on it. Glow in the dark night sights. I can cover all shots under 10 yards with the bottom of a soda can, all shots up to 30 yards are within a 6 inch circle and even otu to 45/50 yards all shots are still on paper even thought the sights completely cover up the small paper target.

I wanted so bad to trade my LC9 but I could not find a local dealer that would take it. They can't get rid of their new ones they have in the case because of Rugers Lawyered up trigger etc. So it sits in my gun case collecting dust.

Don't get me wrong, I think Ruger makes some fine firearms. I love my new model .45 LC black hawk with its dirty hairy length barrel. That thing will take Whitetails down with no problems and id deadly accurate out to 50 yards and further.

I really really wanted my LC9 to be a good little weapon but it was not to be and ended up being a hunk that is going to sit and do nothing.

Had mine for about 8 months. It is ammo picky but I have fired about 1000 rounds as of this wknd no trouble eats most hp rounds except rem gs and pwr ball. Handles +p okay a lot of recoil. Good little pistol once broke in.

It gives you a better grip and has a little palm swell that will make the gun a little more comfortable to handle and shoot.

There are other similiar items. Worth the money.

ALSO, I purchased my LC9 used at a reputable dealer but no box, paperwork, internal lock keys, or gun lock. Checked the Ruger site for at replacement internal lock key but nothing. Anybody have any ideas for finding replacement keys and the long gun lock? I have little hands around the house and while I have many layers of security here, one more would be just fine with me...

And to the OP, for what little it is worth, I love this gun and would buy it again at the right price in a heartbeat...

I have had good luck with mine. I know there have been some QC issues with the LC9, but mine has been good to me. Just a few ideas I'll share that helped me with mine: Get some target ammo in bulk, set it aside and do lots of dry fire practice to get used to the trigger. I still jerk and miss my mark, but not as bad as a few months ago when I inherited mine from my wife. (She went for a Sig P238 when the LC9's recoil proved to be too much). Bring a small cleaning kit to the range. I found after about 20 rounds the accuracy drops off and a quick dry brushing of the barrel gets everything back on center. When doing a good cleaning pull outward on the guard for the take-down pin to ease in opening. My take down pin was a little stubborn at first, but now it slides right out. Get a couple of extra pins. Those little devils disappear quickly when dropped. Check with Ruger, but I think the set screw for the rear sight is a 5/64. Keep one of those allen wrenches handy and check yours before firing. Some were shipped loose. It has a very nice feel to it inspite of being so small. Have you tried one yet? It might help to borrow or rent one to see what you think. Enjoy!
