Ruger LCR .357 ejector rod question.

I would say, not normal. Where is the bluing rubbing off? Can you see where its touching something to cause the wear? Are you talking about the very tip, where it contacts the front latch that holds it in place? Can you post a picture so we can see? WELCOME.

I would say normal. Add a small drop of oil to it to help minimize it but it's pretty much the same deal as a cylinder turn ring. Metal on metal rubbing will leave a mark but it doesn't really get any worse.

If you mean the very tip of the ejector, both of my LCRs have done that. The very edge is worn shiny. The rod that does the actual unlatching is titanium. Very wear resistant.

FWIW, the 357 ejector latch has two springs, one inside the other. This makes it stronger to resist unlatching from recoil. The 38 and 22 models have only one spring. One of the two 357 springs is the same as used in the other models, with a second spring added.

One possible negative about LCRs is that you have to unscrew the barrel to do any work on the latch. With S&Ws, you just punch out a roll pin that holds the latch together.

Thanks or the reply guys. I will try to post a picture when I get a chance. The wear is on the actual rod itself running parallel up and down the rod. It's almost from pushing it in multiple times to eject stuck rounds from the cylinder.
