The Ruger P89 was ALMOST what I wanted, but not quite, so I made it what I wanted. Improvements include:
20 pound hammer spring
Uncle Mikes rubber checkered handgrips with steel inserts
Purple bluing stripped off, slide refinished with black manganese phosphate parkerizing, and then oiled ( the oil is whats shiny in the picture).
All work was performed by me, even the parkerizing, which was done on my stovetop. I have tested for accuracy against my Sig Sauer 229, and it is just as accurate. I think this one is a keeper.
