A few years back, Ruger did a lot of hype on a new firearm, but wasn't producing it yet. They said they would never advertise a new firearm unless it was in production and at the distributors.

But, its been 2 months since I pre-ordered my Ruger 57 and even now most of the bigger on-line retailers are still just accepting "pre-orders".

Now comes the PC-Charger in 9mm and "if" you can find a on-line retailer the best you can get is "pre-order" or "allocated".

Two new Rugers I'm willing to spend serious money on even though I'm on social security and can't find one where someone isn't price gauging.

I wish Ruger would just do a better job in their forecasting. Hell, every YouTuber of note gun magazine has gotten a sample to test.

Just a rant, I know no one here can do anything about it.

I don't know about the 57 but most of the tooling for the PCC should work for the pistol.
They should have the out shortly but it is a bad time to buy firearms, too much panic buying.

Well, this past week has sure changed everything. Like dwarren said, the panic buyers have screwed us all. Nobody has anything in stock right now, not even distributors. Local gun shops (at least in my area) are pretty well bare and have lines going halfway down the block to pick up whatever dregs of guns and ammo they still have, and many online places are gouging like crazy on anything they have left too.

I have a an old S&W pistol on layaway at my LGS right now that I made my first payment on about 3 weeks ago. I couldn't get in to pick it up till last Friday and by then the madness had started, so I have no idea when I'll be able to pick it up at this point. Could be a couple weeks or could be months (assuming we haven't all been turned into zombies by the virus by then :D).

My point is, whatever the situation was with Ruger and the 57 and Charger, their releases have been pushed out even further by this current panic. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't start seeing any movement until well into summer.

I guess you guys are right. I sell some of my used guns though a LGS to ensure a background check it done. It also gets rid of the face-to-face I have to do, which on a few occasions gave me pause.

So, last week he called me and asked if I had any 9mms I'd like to sell, he was just about wiped out of used guns. I took him 10 I had planned to cull this coming summer. Just got a text today saying most were already gone and asked for more. He also wanted to buy my excess 9mm self defense ammo and 5.56/.223 if I had any.

He's just trying to keep the door open and keep customers happy. My local "big box" sporting goods store is out of 9mm, .38 Spl, 5.56/.223 and other calibers. The gun rack is looking pretty bare and they won't let you order most handguns on-line for delivery from their warehouse anymore.

I'll just have to wait for my Rugers. But man it'll be a boring wait.

I thought the Obama and Hillary team had set a world record, but Covid 19 easily tops their best efforts to sell a billion firearms, and FAST.

My area doesn't have any large LGS near by, but the ones here don't even have dust on the shelves they were sucked out so fast.

I.e. I don't think Ruger was the problem.

Bummer. I was lucky enough to nab mine a little over a week before all this COVID-19 craziness went down. Bought it at a little discount variety/sporting/pharmacy store. It was the 4th or 5th one they'd got in so far.

I got mine unfired off of Armslist from a guy who needed some cash for a down payment on a house his lady had convinced him he needed to buy. Apparently, he really likes this girl. Great blaster. Ammo is a bit pricey, and hard to fine now with all this COVID stuff making the gun community go loco...... Bought the optics plate online, and mounted a Vortex Venom on it. Now I have to get to the range to sight it in. Looks like it will be a winner for sure though.

I finally got my M57 today after exactly 90 days after pre-ordering from a major LE/civilian firearm distributor. But, the local ranges here are still closed but starting to reopen, for limited hours and number of shooters at a time, this weekend. It'll probably be a while before I get to shoot it since my wife and I are higher risk (age and health issues). But, at least I got it!!!!!!

At least you got it. You can fondle it, take it apart and put it back together and enjoy it in that way. Looking forward to a range report when the time comes.
