I've been looking around and there are a few people that make custom wood grip inserts for the SP101. My question is, does (or did) Ruger make factory wood grip inserts that can be purchased or do you have to go to an outside source for these?

I, too, would be interested in buying a set of the factory wood grip inserts for my SP101. If anyone has a lead on 'em, please do post.

I dont know if wood inserts were ever offered on the SP101, but the GP100 COMPACT grip shipped with wood inserts, and they are the same size as the SP101 inserts. I have 4 sets from Chigsgrips and the inserts are beautiful and reasonably priced.

Altamont makes the wood inserts for the new SP101 4" guns. They are not for sale thru Altamont, but they do offer wood inserts for the SP101 also.

Every once in a while someone will place a set for sale on Ebay...I got one set new with a fixed-sight GP100 (see avatar)...I got the other 2 sets off Ebay! The Ruger factory originals seem to work best for me! Keep your eyes peeled...they'll pop up!

I used the search here and a few options popped up.
