I have a Ruger Speed Six with fixed sights and the front sight, although it is fixed, is off to the left. It appears that the barrel of the gun was milled to accept the sight in this position. I have not shot this gun so I dont know if it's correct or not but sure looks strange. Is this normal for a fixed sight to be out of alignment?

welcome from the suncoast. no it is not normal, the barrel could be from another gun.if you bought it used someone might have replaced it before you got it.I would take it to a reliable gunsmith to have it checked out.

I have several rifles and handguns with the sights slightly under/over rotated to the frame. The appearance is a bit annoying, to be sure, they all shoot fine.

I have often wondered if that is due to getting the bullet to go where the sights are pointed, but I don't know that. If it puts a bullet out in right field, call Ruger and ask if they would correct the problem.
