Wasn't real sure where to put this. If anybody knows of a better place please let an admin know so they can move it. I got this in an email this evening.

RUGER® SR9™ PRODUCT SAFETY WARNING AND RECALL NOTICE DO NOT USE YOUR RUGER SR9 PISTOL

We have determined that some Ruger SR9 pistols manufactured between October 2007 and April 2008 can, under certain conditions, fire if dropped with their manual safeties in the "off" or "fire" position. The pistols will not fire if the manual safety is in the "on" or "safe" position.

We will retrofit all Ruger SR9 pistols starting with serial number prefix "330" (330-xxxxx) with these new parts at no charge to our customers. When we return your SR9, we also will send you a FREE extra magazine as a "thank you" for your patience and cooperation.

I heard about the recent recalls by Ruger. I hadn't heard of one prior to this. What's happening? Is the quality control going downhill?

I was wondering if this recall is the same one for the trigger replacement or if this is a different recall. I have a ruger with a starting serial number 330 and i was told that my gun has already had the recall notice taken care of. However i would love to send my gun to them just so I can get the free clip. :)

I'm pretty sure its the trigger recall is the only one the SR9 has. I bought mine 2 weeks ago and it was post recall produced so everything was fine. Good luck getting the free mag though, let me know if it works!
