Is that the original medallion, or did Ruger replace it when you sent it to Ruger?

After looking a bit closer at the OP's pics, I'd say his pistol is almost certainly a Type III Red Eagle. One of the more common varieties, but still collectable.

The serial number should be somewhere in the 3648-9101 range.

I asked because the medallion in the OP’s photos doesn’t look like what it should look like. My medallion is missing and I’ve been looking for an original medallion unsuccessfully. My serial number is 42xx. My father bought it brand new in 1950 for $37.50.

Below is a photo I got off the internet some time ago of one that I believe is correct.

I got them from Ruger. Actually Mark1 mags. They don't carry ruger standard anymore. So I'll have to change the follower button to the other side.

So I'd venture a guess that they are 9 rounders
