Purchased this rifle NEW 10/22/2015.

brought it home gave it a good cleaning then took out to test,

Shootin Hornaby 17 grain v-max I've not had one round eject.
I snap the bolt back and doesn't attempt to eject the fired casing.

I can cycle new ammo through it and it will eject new UNFIRED cartridges without an issue.

I miked the rounds and there is only .500 difference between fired and unfired.

Any help or insight will be appreciated. I've contacted Ruger

Thank you
Terry

When you hear from them please post their answer. I've thought about calling them but since it only happens to me occasionally I've not done it yet.

That's disappointing. I guess maybe a phone call. I've always heard Ruger had excellent customer service. I'll have some free time next week and will call them. I'll let you know what they tell me.

Did some testing today with 3 different ammo types.

Hornady 17GR. V-Max (red tip)
CCI TNT 16GR. Hollow point
CCI 17GR. A17 (Grey Tip)

Both the CCI 16 and 17 grain fired and ejected without issue.
Hornady red tip continues to fail to eject..

Empty casing measure the same.
The rim on the hornady looks fat compared to the CCI when fired.
Im not sure how that could happen unless the headspace is lose.
But if that was the case both empty casing should be the same.

So far I've only used the 17GR. V-Max (red tip). It the problem happens only after I've fired 20-30 rounds. One will fail to extract and I have to use my knife to remove it. Sometimes it will happen a couple of times in a row then no problems for several more rounds then it happens again.
