I recently purchased a Ruger LCP II and I plan on dry firing it to get used to the trigger, I’m assuming it’s safe to dry fire because it’s a center fire pistol. But I could be wrong.

Best idea ? Make sure it's NOT loaded. Clean the oil from the bore. Go buy a box of .380 shells for it. Set up a target in a safe direction. Shoot it. Enjoy.

Safely? or ok for the gun. Personally I do not dry fire any of my firearms. Always have plenty of snap caps on hand. As they say "A ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of trouble." PS, I also clean my guns after each range trip.
