:confused:I have a Ruger#3 in .22 Hornet. It is set up with Redfield two piece mounts, and Redfield 1" rings. I have a 3-9 x 40 Nicon scope mounted in the rings. The scope sets too far forward to get the proper eye relief for full view, through the scope. On the ruger#1 rifle that I have there is a ring base that uses offset ruger rings, that will allow proper placement of the scope, but the #3 is not so equiped. Would I be better off to try to find offset rings, or try to find a scope that would have a more forward eye relief? Is there such rings, or a scope? Anyone have any experience along these lines?

Chubbo. Try using the rings from ruger that set the scope backwards by about .5 inch. Depending on where your turrets are located on your scope you could gain some more set back. I even tried a combination of rings, standard and set back style with some luck. Good luck and good shooting!
