Good stuff! What’s the purpose of swapping out the stock recoil spring though if it’s new? Like above, just trying to learn here.

The stainless galloway spring and rod are heavier than stock. One notion was that it tends to suppress the recoil kick of the muzzle upward a little...enough to help with follow-up fire. It may be true....hard to say but I've done a bit better since I got it, so its possible.

Stock rod is plastic, and Galloway sells steel. Also, you can pick different tensions.
