I have a ported Glock and haven't noticed a difference over my other Glocks or semi-autos. Maybe the Beretta 92 owners can say one way or the other.

My G19c has an opened slide and barrel. I have yet to notice an exception. I do notice flash at the range though.

Local large PD issued Glock 22C's to officers, from what I heard they didn't have any issues other than the flash from night shooting.

Well if your talking about Beretta's, according to the manufacturer with the open slide design and the blow back action it suppose to make it easier for the pistol to clear obstructions itself, and with the open slide it also makes it easier to clear obstruction manually. I've had my 92FS and for years now and has not failed me yet.
