I'm almost two months in to being a complete Florida resident: tags/title on truck, drivers license issued, property purchased ... and just got my new State CCW in the mail -- card carrying Good Guy.

Now, on Monday, I'm hoping to finally get to my local Range, buy a year pass, and get a few shots off.

Today, I'm getting my cart ready for the big adventure.
Furniture Cabinetry Wheel Tire Wood

I'm also about to transform some u-haul packing boxes into shooting targets.

Hahaha, no Snow Bird. Born in South Georgia, Golden Isles. Did a Navy gig right after high school, saw half the world, got out and went to Atlanta for four years, then ran out to SF Bay Area for 25 years chasing that dollar ... found it, then moved to Ohio to see my mother off the planet with great healthcare, thank you Cleveland Clinic for incredible Parkinson's Care. And thank you Ohio for helping me decompress from the SF Bay Area rat race; got my mind back in gear.

But, ultimately, I'm a coastal-kid and I picked Florida for my final phase of life ... primarily 'cause of the gov'ner and the no-State IncomeTax advantage; also, the Gulf Coast is beautiful and I fly kites and shoot guns..

My local Range, Tenoroc, has self-defense distances that will greatly benefit what I'm aiming to achieve; so, sorry Grand River, love'ya, wish ya'well, but I need what Florida has to offer.

Regarding the Gub'nor, ain't no time to turn around now -- De Santis has set an agenda that shouldn't be beat. I'm an Independent and will vote for the one who speaks/acts with what means best, and I think the Republican ticket speaks/acts with what means best at the moment.

Welcome from NE Florida, not very far from the Golden Isles.
Grew up and lived over half my life in South Florida, until it just got way too crowded.
We now have a small farm in what for now is a rural area.

Glad our fine state, Ohio, was a stop over along life's journey. Enjoy that last phase of life and may it be what you were hoping for.

Tenoroc also has some very good fishing if you are into freshwater fishing too.

Welcome to the Florida Resident status. After growing up in Miami (deep sea fishing and scuba diving) I moved to Tampa (inshore fishing and camping) for the next 17 years. I loved Ft Meyers, Punta Gorda, Sarasota, and the Bay Area. Get a small boat and really enjoy the beauty of Florida.
We left Tampa because it was getting too crowded, but we'll miss seeing dolphins (and sometimes manatees) in the Hillsborough Bay during workouts along Bayshore Blvd. We never bought a boat but did enjoy walking over to rent a boat from one of the places next to the Convention Center. We could choose from one of those electric boats for a relaxed cruise on the Hillsborough River, one of the little green two-seat motor boats to roar around on the bay or get a canoe for some paddling fun. And speaking of paddling, renting a canoe from Alafia River Canoe Rentals was fun, too.

Hearing “Tampa” I instantly think of John Mabrey Blvd down by the air base.
High crime, tattoo parlors and strip joints.
My wife and I actually saw two moving cars exchanging gunfire on a Saturday night there.
