I have the Sp101 2 1/4 inch and the SP101-22 and like them both. The .357 has CT laser grips and is somewhat pleasant to shoot with heavy magnum loads, the LCR-357 is not pleasant at all with the heavy magnum rounds. The GP100 is great to shoot with any ammo and the GP ans SP are built to last forever. and they play well together.

Have a SP101 3 1/16 barrel which I like a great deal. It is a wonder all purpose gun that can be use in so many ways you imagination is your limitation. Just put a set of CT laser grips on and hope to do some spring work soon.

You can't go wrong with a Ruger SP!

Only regret is that the 4 inch barrel series was not available back in 2004 when I bought mine.

i love my sp101. they are very well designed, easy to carry and makes a great all around revolver. one other nice thing about the sp101 is there are a lot of resources out there to help you customize it to suit you perfectly. this forum is one of those resources. i have polished the action, put in new springs and installed a tritium front sight and done this myself without a gun smith using information from this forum.

Being new here I am looking forward to use the forum to access the knowledge base of the many sp101 owners who have customized and/or polished up and re springed them to suit their personal taste.

I love a tough gun; and that is what the SP101 is. I have mine in .38. The stock grips made my hand cramp a bit after about 60 rounds, so I put a pair of wooden Hogue's on them.

There is nothing like having a gun you KNOW you can count on.

Superbly built. Mine would bite my knuckle and cut my trigger finger, until I got rubber grips and radiused the trigger edges a little bit with a dremel (normally, you just don't let a dremel anywhere near a gun, but this was an exception that paid off).

On my third one ,great all around revolver. just try to kill one!The only negative comment I have is the trigger . the 1st one was smooth out of the box the 3'' was rough had to get a trigger job on that...my third is border line... im gonna run some rds down range and dry fire the crap out of it and see what happens . Overall they are excellent work ,duty, HD or carry pistols .
