I just purchased an SP101 hammerless for my wife to use for home protection. I really like the feel of this gun and may get another for myself. What general cleaning methods and products do you folks use? I have never disassambled a revolver and was wondering if there is a simple way to remove the cylinder for cleaning (without removing the trigger assembly)? Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the Forum! Disassembling the SP101 is not hard. I would suggest you either write Ruger for an instruction manual, or download it at their website, www.ruger.com. The manual had detailed instructions on how to take it apart.

Like Gunman said it's not hard to disassemble the SP101. You do have to remove the trigger housing to remove the cylinder. Just be careful that after you remove the trigger assembly that you do not pull the trigger rearward or it will launch the paw spring.
