as a guide in AK, we have some areas that rotate spring and fall with even and odd years. so on an off year i went on a Artic Spring Grizzly Bear hunt for my self. there generally smaller bears, but i find them a meaner bears due to the harsher artic conditions that they live in. we landed our Cubs on ski,s at about 4500 feet. glassed the area for a few days. it was cold! 17 during the day. colder at night. yes we where running light oil...lol. day 5 i bagged this guy hanging out atop of his den. 200 yard shot. hard to get close with no trees. 2 day later a lynx was chewing on the carcass so a wack him to. i had him mounted inside a 52 in moose horns a shot in 1990 with a bow. enjoy!
