What do I need to tighten the grips on my SR1911? Looks like I need and Allen wrench but what size?

I believe some manufactures have changed to torque screws. I finally bought a set of torque driver bits.

You could always take a screw to the hardware store and figure it out. I have no idea what "sizes" those things come in - I have dozens and none are marked!!
Not really. Most 1911's use a a very unusual thread size, 0.236"x60tpi, and regular hardware stores aren't going to have them. Brownells sells the taps, screws and bushings and most gunshops should have the screws.

I use a 3/32" Allen wrench , I have the set that I bought for my Dillon 550's. Fits perfect on all my Ruger 1911's

Swiss army knive screwdriver took care of some of mine or small electrical screwdriver will do it also.
