SR22 at the range

I shot my SR22 Saturday and loved it. I had seven guns to shoot so only shot 200 rounds but it ate everything I fed it and not a single problem.

Matter of fact every gun shot great and I only had one stovepipe on a Walther PP in .22LR.

Nice 303! I shot 200 rounds through mine right when I picked it up at the LGS/Range. Picked it up from the cash register and walked right into the range. FUN!
My SR22 keeps getting better.I went to the range for the first time in a few months and dialed in my sights. Now that I am used to the pistol, I shot a clothes pin at 15 yards. It may have been luck, it may not be an impressive shot at that distance to the serious shooters, but I was proud and the other shooters were interested in what pistol I was causing afterwards.

Great to hear.
I enjoy mine also! It's one of those pistols that the word"Fun" keeps being used to describe it. Just curious, what ammo are you using? Mine likes the Federal bulk.

Mostly Federal bulk. In the past it eats anything I put through it.:)
I use Federal Champion JHP bulk ammo as well. I tried CCI Minimags and that fed through the gun as well.
Range report on SR22 today shot 200 rounds with an o-ring installed on the recoil spring. No issues whatsoever.....no more ping everytime the slide cycles. Recoil seems smoother too. Shot up to 15 yards, pretty accurate about 1/2" groupings not too bad for a short barreled 22 semi-auto. I tried it at 25 yards and it was all over the place. It was F U N! Can't complain.
Taking mine to the range tomorrow for the first time. after a rew months finally got one.
Well, I must've been next to you cause I went to my local gun range saturday and shot a box of Federal 550 bulk with no problems...to date I've put 1605 rds thru my SR22-CT. This gun has put every round downrange and I have been absolutely thrilled by it's performance...
Had mine for a month no problems. I always clean my weapon when first purchased. Shot 100 rounds first trip to the range. Federal Bulk target, CCI, Some really old Win. I had (1) stovepipe in the first 20 rounds. Nothing else but (2) of the old Win FTF so I tossed the rest of the 50 into the dud can. To date 500 rounds fired. Firearm eats everything I run through it. I believe cleaning, lubricating a weapon is crucial in the break-in period. Only mod I've made is a stainless steel rail guide. It does seem to cycle even better. Good gun as have been my other Rugers.

Had mine at the range Friday afternoon. Ran 100 Federal Target and 100 Fiocci Bulk 36grn solids. Digests everything I run through it. I did get a stainless steel rod guide and it does cycle a little more smoothly. Seems a little more accurate too. Great pistol. No problems with mine to date. At about 1000 rds. I am getting the itch for a second .45acp. Thinking maybe a SR.45. Everyone needs a big brother right?

SR22 accuracy

Range Report: 9/12/2013

I have been to the range multiple times with my SR22 now and over three months have put around 800 rounds through it. I don't do marathon shooting. Normally 40 -100 rounds depending on the wx and time available. I have read many reports on the outstanding accuracy of this weapon but never have felt the need to explore it. Even worse perhaps, I never until today did any sight adjustment. I am mostly an instinctive shooter and essentially use the site plane and my eyes to fire at a target. I was always happy putting the sight plane at the 6:00 of the target and blazed away. The results were easily 2-3 inches and I was fine with that result. Today I decided to see if the sights even work. I fired the first three rounds of mag 1 using the sights both eyes open just as I do in my normal routine with the exception of using the sights. The rounds were 12:00 O'clock at three inches. Range 7 yards. I made my first adjustment and fired 3 more rounds all still high 2 inches at 12:00 O'clock. Same adjustment fired the last four in the mag, still an inch high. Made my third correction. Loaded mag 2. My first two rounds were fired very deliberately. Elevation dead on but about 3/4 inch right. I reset myself and used a combination of my instinctive technique plus the sights and fired more quickly. First shot in the X the next 7 rounds went through the same hole; well they made a hole slightly larger than a dime. Final round was cutting the same hole but I was probably 1/8 inch higher.
Reloaded both mags and set two clean targets out. Needless to say but
the results were 2 sets of ten shot worm holes. Again this is at seven yards.
I set up 2 more targets at 15 yards with nearly the same result all rounds covered with a quarter. WOW ! I kicked myself for not spending more time on accuracy !!!! This little gun is awesome. I didn't have time to continue playing but I can't wait to go to 20 and 25 yards to see what I can do. It's not a competition fire arm and my farsighted eyes will start coming into play at 20 and 25 yards but I am still impressed with what Ruger did when they produced this sweet little gun. I always take my .45 service pistol with me when I shoot the SR22 but I didn't even bother wasting a round in it. I can get my close quarter eye tuned just fine with this excellent firearm. Now if I can just score about 5000 .22 LR Rimfire rounds I'll be in hog heaven!!! :D

Glad everyone is liking their SR22... it's an awesomely fun little shooter! The "worst" ammo (Winchester 555pack) I put through it has been only 3% failure rate, most being a failure-to-cycle the slide. Anything good like CCI MiniMags are going to run flawlessly. I have 1500+ rounds thru so far.
I am jealous, I want one. Nice to hear how well they run, cause I will have one.
So far mine has ate up Winchester bulk and Remington bulk goldens without a problem! Sweet lil pistol! I wish they made big calibers in a gun like this! I love A hammer fire and DC!
