Went out to the range today and fired off two clips 10 rounds in each of my 15 round mags of my SR40. The second round of my third clip failed to load as the floor plate of the mag, the spring and follower all fell to the ground and the bullets followed. Examing the floor plate revealed one of the two slot ridges that the floor plate slips in to had broken off.
Does anyone know of a source for metal floor plated for the SR40 mags? It has shaken my confidense in the plastic ones!

No, no sources for metal ones I know of, but the plastic ones are about $2.00 each. I'd bet Ruger will send you one if you call them. Might even want to email them a pic of the broken piece.

I've used plastic magazines and end caps for decades without issues. My guess is you got a defective one or maybe the bottom of the metal magazine itself is malformed. Might want to look at that too.

I might be wrong but I don't think there is so. I'd give Ruger a call, send it back. They may just send you 2.
