I bought my SR9 Monday, Feb 4...

Took it down to clean last night and the barrel has several surface "rings" around the outside...

Looks like maybe while spinning in a lathe, something was rubbing against it...

They're not deep, but I can feel some roughness in places when rubbing my fingertips over them...

I would welcome opinions from the esteemed group here...

Should I just forget about it, or ask Ruger for a new barrel?

I must admit, if nothing else I am a bit disappointed to find this on a brand new firearm...

I don't have a digital camera (I spend too much on firearms)...I hope my description is adequate...

My P89 barrel is the same way. I wouldn't worry about it.

My new KP 89 had those subtle, circumferential toolmarks...all my Ruger Centerfires have them.........NORMAL.....Do not worry. I polish mine out......BECAUSE I CAN (metal polisher/machinist here)......but it really isn't needed. Have I relieved your disappointment? I hope so......I know what it is to be picky.......I used to sweat the small stuff too. Happy Shootin'. Mg.
