I've been searching high and low for a wider set of grips for my SRH in 454. It has the current production Hogue style grip with the sorbothane insert. The grip does help absorb recoil but I need something wider. Under recoil I can feel the skinny back strap area (width of that insert anyway) slam into my palm.
I need something as wide as the palm swell so it will fit my hand better.

Does anyone make a wood or rubber grip that is wider than the stock stuff?
I've seen the Badger grips and do not want the grip angle changed.

You could try the original Lett grip now made by Altamont:

Altamont Company - Ruger

I know it says GP100 but they share the same grip. My GP100 came with the Hogue Monogrip and while it's not the exact same grip as yours it's pretty close. The original one piece rubber with wood inserts grip is significantly wider and makes for much nicer shooting. Altamont has a couple of different patterns they mold into the rubber and they have several different options for insert material and checkering patterns. You picked a good time for wanting a new grip as a year ago you would have been scrounging backorder lists for a plain version of this grip.

Sadly, Altamont respinded to my email by saying their grips are the same width as stock.

The search continues. I'll look into Eagle.
