Just few months ago I bought a SR1911 Ruger CMD Lightweight, shooting at range I noticed that slide will not remain open when last shot was fired...tried to slide it back and it was stuck...No way to move the slide, finally I removed the magazine and it slide back, but after feeding in the mag, the slide was stuck and the level, or slide release did not move at all...only after removing the mag, it would slide ...I sent the Pistol to Ruger for inspection..any idea what caused this malfunction...tks

No reason to speculate, you sent it back, Ruger will make it right. Keep us posted when you get it back.

I agree with G36.

I personally haven't always had the best luck with Ruger products, but their customer service department has treated me pretty well.


I am curious.
I assume that this was a new pistol, and came with two magazines.
Were you using the Ruger mags that came with the gun?
Did you have the same experience with both mags?
